One of the project’s “Vilnius - European capital of culture 2009″ events is “Art in Unusual Places”. Last year this event made really good impression to us and now we offer a package special for it! This is the project transforming Vilnius face, the creative intervention of artists and original far-outers into the unexpected city areas in real time!
The projects of professional artists such as video and audio installations, operettas, performances, dances, social campaigns, artistic vagaries and surprises will astonish the audiences in a variety of extraordinary city places, like the market, bridges, dead fountains, inner yards of the Old Town or unfinished ghost buildings. Special maps will help people to detect the “hidden” attractions. City residents are also invited to create projects in their yards and houses. The most inventive projects will be awarded with special prizes.
Forty-three projects of unexpected art were implemented in the city in 2007, during which period all could become artists or participants in an urban detective novel hunting for art in unusual sites of the city.
